Watch Buds 2: earbuds that live in the watch
Huawei’s second Watch Buds is a 1.5-inch watch that hides a pair of earbuds under a pop-up cover. Case is aerospace-grade titanium with a hard nano coat; thinnest point 14.69mm. Buds snap in on a magnetic array at odd angles. Strap option includes vegan leather.
Claimed endurance: about three days of typical watch use. Buds: four hours listen, three with ANC on. Tap to jump noise-cancel modes. Health stack is PPG (heart rate, HRV, pulse-wave, arrhythmia analysis where the country allows it), SpO2, sleep duration and respiratory rate, plus a sleep-breathing flag — again region-locked.
Phone side: Android 9+ or iOS 13+ through Huawei Health. That is not Google Wear and it is not a silent Apple Watch. If your crew is already in Health Connect / Apple Health and you refuse a second app, this is a gadget, not infrastructure.
Desk filter: the idea is one object on the wrist so you do not pack a bud case. The cost is a thicker watch, a lid that will collect pocket dust, and battery math that splits between the watch and two radios in the lugs. We will not score comfort or hinge grit until a pair survives a studio day.
